Gun Buyers May Be Softening Toward Smart Guns

Jonathan Mossberg has spent the last 20 years trying to bring a smart gun to market. Lately, the obstacles are starting to feel lower.

The son of one of the storied families of American gun manufacturing, Mossberg started working on his idea after a Sandia Labs report said that 16% of police officers killed in the line of duty were killed with their own weapon.. “Smart guns” is the loose name for guns that have built in technology that makes it impossible or much harder for someone who is not the owner to shoot them.
